The KML Heritage foundation was created in 2010 in honor of the late Kathy Magi-Loffredi, who passed in August of 2005 at the age of 40 years young.

At the time of her passing, Kathy was the acting Chairperson of Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School, being heavily involved with the school and having a personal mandate to make this school a better place for all students. Kathy’s commitment to education was exceptional, as she strived to create and promote an atmosphere where students could not only have the tools at their disposal to acquire knowledge and better themselves, but would also thoroughly enjoy coming to school every day and learning something new.

As such, this foundation was established with the ultimate goal of contributing to the betterment of schools and education programs in the English Montreal School Board. The first venture taken on by the KML Heritage Foundation was the completion of a project Kathy had started prior to her passing, that being a beautification project for Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary. This project was aimed at enhancing several elements of both the interior and exterior surroundings of the school, and we are proud to have fulfilled Kathy’s dream in completing this in her honor.

The KML Heritage Foundation is one that aims to complete projects which mirror Kathy’s commitment to education, and we believe our newest ambition does just that. Our current objective is to create a Sensory Room at an elementary school in the Montreal Area in her honor, something which shines a light on Kathy’s eternal desire to improve all aspects of education and the schools in which they are provided.

Since 2018, the KML Heritage Foundation has held and been a part of events that raise funds so that we can get closer to achieving this goal, and completing work that Kathy would’ve undoubtedly been part of should she still be here with us today. We hope that we can count on your support as we continue this incredible woman’s journey in helping to improve the educational institutions of today, to ensure an even better tomorrow.
